How to Remove Grillz: Step by Step

1. Use your fingernails or fingertips. Hook your fingernail or fingertip behind the grill at the back tooth on one side — where the metal meets the gum line. This gives you the best leverage point.

2. Apply gentle, even pressure forward and downward (for a top grill) or forward and upward (for a bottom grill). The direction is away from your teeth and toward the front of your mouth.
